In Class Wrting

The M. Bienconnu represents the old peasant people, they experienced a lot and they figured out that their fate are already designed even before they born, “ History has cast our fate in stone.” This line not only shows that M. Bienconnu reminds Ti Moune about the huge gap between richness and poor people, the birth already became the important factor to influence their fate. But also I believed that this line also shows M. Bienconnu helplessness, he experiences a lot, even though he figured out many things, but he still had no choice to go through this gap, after I read this line, the first feeling is the ridiculousness from the author toward the society where the color of skin already decides everything for you.

But for Ti Moune, I believe she represents the young generation, she has the vitality and she did not experience many things, which she may have encourage to do something that old people, such as M. Bienconnu, was afraid. For example, the thing Ti Moune wanted to go to big city to find Daniel and get marriage. However, Ti Moune was shocked by the words from Ti Moune, during the conversation, Ti Moune only persisted one thing—going to big city to save Daniel—However, M.Bienconnu hinted her that his heart does not beat for her, and also the gap is really huge, these lines chilled Ti Moune, which I believed in the end, if there’s no Tonton Julian persistence to ask gods, Ti Moune would give up her mind because of panic.
